Billy Sunday was one of the great preachers of the 1800's.  The Holy Spirit anointed this individual in a powerful way.  In his years of serving the Lord, he was instrumental in leading many people to Christ.  God used this man in a tremendous way.  Billy Sunday attributes his success in the ministry to the advice given him when he first came to Christ.

The week young Billy was converted and joined the church, a strong Christian man put his arm on the young man's shoulder and said,  "Billy, there are three simple rules I can give to you, and if you hold to them, you will become a great man of God.  Take (5) minutes every day to listen to God talking to you; take (5) minutes each day to talk to God; take (5) minutes each day to talk to others about God".

Billy was deeply impressed and determined to make these the rules of his life.  From that day forward, he made it a rule to spend the first moments of his day alone with God in prayer, and then to take time allowing God to speak to him through his word.  Then, throughout the day, he looked for opportunities to share about Christ. Because of his unwavering devotion to these (3) disciplines, God used this man in a powerful way.

I think there are many of us who do a pretty good job in the first two areas, but the third (5) minutes is lacking in many of our lives.  Prayer & Bible study are not enough, if we are not reaching people.

Would you make a daily commitment to these three simple principles?  We might not be another "Billy Sunday", but God will use your life to touch the lives of others.  I have made a commitment to do this--join me.
