Things we do on a regular basis revolve around faith, and we are not even aware of it.  We have faith that the pharmacist will give us the right pills.  We have faith that the auto mechanic will fix our car and make it safe.  We have faith that our school teachers will keep our children safe.  We have faith that the doctor will prescribe the right medicine.  But what about in the spiritual realm.  The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6, "And without faith it is impossible to please God..."  It is important to note that faith in itself has no power--it is the object of our faith.  It is faith "in God".

The Bible speaks of three kinds of faith:

1)  NO FAITH  (I don't know if God can or will)   Mark 4:40 Jesus comments,  "He said to his disciples, why are you so afraid?  Do you still have no faith".

2)  LITTLE FAITH  (I know God can, but I'm not sure He will)  Luke 12:28 Jesus said, "If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith".

3)  GREAT FAITH  (I know God can and will)  Matthew 8:10, Jesus said to the Centurion, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith".  Jesus said to the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:28, "Woman, you have great faith!  Your request is granted".

What does your faith look like these days?

The words of that old hymn written by B.B. McKinney say it best:

Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely,

He sees and knows all the way you have trod;

Never alone are the least of His children,

Have faith in God, have faith in God.

Have faith in God, He's on His throne,

Have faith in God, He watches o'er His own;

He cannot fail, He must prevail;

Have faith in God, have faith in God.
